Thank God it is Monday!

Guess you don't hear this a lot. Normally, it is thank God it's Friday. And to be honest I had that feeling before the weekend did start, but the weekend didn't go as planned!

Saturday during the day wasn't that bad as I did do some things which were needed. Like fixing the trampoline in the backyard. Due to the rough play of the kids and the win battering on the trampoline one pole of the safety net did break off and another one was bend. Normally you can shop around on the net to find some spare parts, but in this case this wasn't the solution. Did try this but didn't find the correct replacement parts. So, I did go to a DIY store, hoping to get some idea how to fix it.

I am not the most handy person in the world, some people would even claim that I do have two left hands. But to my surprise, I maybe found a solution. The question is how long will it hold? But 6 euros is always better than purchasing a new trampoline!

I could also mention that I finally got at the carwash, which was way overdue!

On Saturday evening, we knew it would be hard because we did had some kind of memorial of one our best friends who did passed away one year ago. While we made the best of it we weren't looking forward to this at all. But this wasn't even the worst part of the weekend.

On Sunday, at the football game of the youngest son, we agreed with another couple to go to a restaurant in the evening. Everybody was looking forward to that besides our oldest son (14)! And this is when everything went wrong.
Some extra info to understand the situation is that he just ended his Covid quarantine on Sunday and was hoping to see his girlfriend. Also he is still recovering from his ACL injury from January 2022!!!!
So we did ask him via a message is his girlfriend would join us, but she couldn't. So he was hoping to skip the restaurant and go to his girlfriend. But we told him that it was expected from him to he would join us. While there was time enough for him to see his girlfriend in our eyes. It appears that she wasn't at home.
And then the discussion did start when we did come home. While we had the idea to had a calm chat with him, it appeared that he didn't have the same plans. Immediately, he went into a strong defensive mode and people who do have kids around his age and have passed this, can imagine who things did evolve.

So, here we are on Monday, hoping on better times, knowing that this won't be a great Monday. I was awake around 5.30 and was already at work at 6.30. So, it will be a long day!

Hope you all had a better weekend!

Cheers,
Peter

Yikes, that sucks. I hope things get better for you today. I just have an ornery old dog to deal with. I don't think I could handle a teenager!

Guess we will have to get through this phase. Should try to keep my cool much more!

Girls are nothing but trouble. Just tell him that and see if it fixes everything :)

I could also mention that I finally got at the carwash, which was way overdue!

I did the same on Saturday and luckily it didn't rain afterward. It usually does.

You just need anew top rail and that maybe easier said than done depending on how old the trampoline is as we normally change the design and size every year to screw competitors. How many springs is your trampoline as that will help narrow down when looking for the part?

Lots of springs. The diameter is 4.7 meters.
The trampoline is from a local DIY store, so the actual brand is unknown because it is branded. I will see how long it will hold. 2 years is probably enough.
