Simply Copy a part of the article and paste it in Google Search. Or other good method is to use some tools like https://www.duplichecker.com/, https://smallseotools.com/plagiarism-checker/ etc specifically designed to check plagiarism.
If anyone comes across something suspicious content from a user feel free to give a plagiarism check and if found guilty, leave a Original Source of Article in the comment tagging @scholaris.pob and other Curators who had Upvoted the Post. Sometimes it's unintentional or by mistake, even if you forget giving proper citations or reference that would considered plagiarism, so if you make a mistake once don't shy and admit what you did wrong, nothing wrong in accepting the mistake and make sure never to commit the same mistake again. But mostly the fraud users once caught they simply run away and later come back with new account, that's really annoying and bad influence on community. It really needs a great community effort to work together to fight plagiarism and fraud in the community.
@vikbuddy hope am free to actually say what am about to say,but let me just say it as a means of sharing experience too in the community,I remember I once that mistakes of plagiarism when I newly joined and I think their was a time to I met you talking to the hivewatchers too back then and today now,it is a bye gone
Let me say it is not a bad thing when people makes mistakes,some does it due to ignorance at first of lack of good guide in the community,but it will be of good attitude to have stand and fight back ,by accepting such mistakes just as we did then and move on, but most comes back with new account.

Definitely mate and sincerely stand with you on this and the experience was just the best ever,cause I sincerely learn alot about that,I still wish we can still go out there and take it upon ourselves to write about the effect of plagiarism again.
Even though lot of content has a been done as regards this,but I think their is still need to keep on checkmating some of the new users who don't have access to go through the guide when they newly joined so as to not fall vitcim .
Aside that I want to believe that we all know that plagiarism doesn't only comes with post or content as we do call it ,but in everything like comment too,have seen a users who copied another person content and still post back on that same content as comment.which is totally wrong.
The truth is that one need to realised where he fall down or failed so that one can rise up again. Sincerely this act is almost the order of the day and it is of no help to such user,I have a mindset that making mistakes is one thing that is part of life,but running away from it, is a means of showing that such person is a born failure,that needs to do with the issue of those that run away and come with another account.
Good one as regards the plagiarism checker you talked about and honestly I sincerely think that is the best possible way to actually bring and end to such act and I will say I think that is the easiest way for now ,apart from the fact that some of this users who are new at times will just copy and paste directly and you will even know self mere seeing it without any plagiarism checker
I can't assume that someone has made an error due to a misunderstanding unless they respond back. For this reason, I will DV first and remove the DV IF, and only IF, they respond to my comment. There are entirely too many cases to sift through. It's impossible for me to tell between fraud is caused by misunderstanding or because of ignorance. I treat ignorance quite differently.
This is exactly my point though only one person can not do it alone but they have to be some people on ground who will be doing the check and balance. If not we will end up not doing anything regarding plagiarism.
Oh. I never know it is easier to check a content that is plagiarised this way. I only know how to search out picture using google lens.
But the truth is that how many article do you want to search using google?
What if some read a content and phrase it using his own words how then can someone know that it is truly not a plagiarised content?

It's convenient. It isn't easy. Using a plagiarism checker is only a first step. If someone paraphrases instead of copying and pasting, then you look for whether or not they are properly citing the information.
The community will NOT go against you if you decide to downvote a post, state your reasoning, and then that author fails to respond. I know I'll support your decision especially if the author never replies back to you.

I understand is a lot of time checking the originality of an article but is still something we all have a role to play if you're ever going to have a worthy platform.
You indeed said my mind with regard to the topic. Technology have made a lot of things quite easy with just a click of the button, one can find any information over the web. Google us one of those tools that can be used to detect original or none original content.
Simple mate and if I can get you right ,you need the application for that, which is very simple,you can get that on playstore or Apple App.
Get a plagiarism checker and use that to check the originality of any content and you can even use it to check out your own work to derives satisfaction before posting too,even their are Application's that helps for grammatical error too.
But for now all we need is to download the Application and even put it on automatic check,once you click on a content to read,it will examine the content and show you it originality .

Your approach is sound for the first level of screening. There are others that I'm learning now that are much more complicated. It certainly appears unintentional at times. Admitting to the error speaks volumes and minimizes the pain on both the author and the moderator. For instance, when one particular user immediately admitted the mistake, the focus of my ire was only that one article they faulted on. If the person doesn't respond, or denies the evidence presented, then I start scanning all their articles in a seven-day period.
There are many situations where your content can coincidentally resemble that of another content in somewhere different and it will look as if it is plaglarise.
For example
Jesus is Lord
This statement Jesus is Lord has already existed and I'm not the first person to write or create a contents of the word Jesus is Lord.
So if I use the plaglarism checker of that content then it will bring everywhere this content Jesus is Lord has ever existed and that does not really mean one plaglarise or copied the content from one place.
This situation can happen many times when one is creating a sport content or a general news and most especially the headlines of the content you want to create are mostly or likely being so similar to many others who have created it.
So can there be way to differentiate that?

Common phrases are a different matter entirely. If the plagiarism check flags common phrases, then there's no action you should take against the user. However, if the user is pasting complete sentences from another source, then they are obligated to cite the source of their material.
Regarding sports content or anything else for that matter, again, it's the responsibility of the author to make sure the audience is aware that the information presented is not their own.
Yeah that's true and very common. But that's not a big worry because it can be clearly seen once found the source of articles. Also important is to catch the once who simply copy full articles or paragraphs and simply paste it.

Honestly to me,I will say whenever I see write up that is not original,most times I do know,even from it set up, I will definitely know that the user is not the real author of such article and I want to believe that most of us have this plagiarism checker on our phones ,which is one thing that is very important at times,when I have a supiscious mind over a content,I used my plagiarism checker to screen such content out immediately.

Using the plagiarism checker, again, is just a first-layer tool. It will NOT be the official means by how someone like me determines fraud. I would use a plagiarism checker yes, but in conjunction with a manual check against what's available. You then need to check how far the problem progresses by checking that user's other articles at least.

Today topic,well it indeed a good one because I have no full idea about it but if I may say in my own words. I am sure there are many ways in which we can screen article for potential frauds.
Firstly, Fraud act, is something that has been in existence for a very long time and there is no way it can be avoided completely. It only one way which I take the most to stop this,
1.verify well enough before acting upon an article that you just came to know through someone.
2 Link's. through this is also a way which article can poison someone's mind. there will be attractive things which human can also be greedy about. Meanwhile they had not confirm thoroughly.

Fraud have become part of the world's greatest menace both physically and online, it still beats my imagination why one should engage in fraud when he or she can easily achieve the same fits putting in the same effort, could we call that laziness or what. Its not laziness i guess cause they tend to put in much effort to defraud or commit plagiarism.
Back to the question, i think there are lots of tool online that can be used to check originality of contents here. Most of these tools have been shared by my friend @vikbuddy
But the major challenge here is wasting our precious time to check plagiarism when we could use it to create better content. That bring me to the question #impact of a ban or warning from proofofbrain for plagiarism ooffenders. Is it good or bad, what impact will absolute ban be in proofofbrain as consequences for plagiarism or fraud.
Actions should have consequences depending on its grievous nature. Haba what is there in referencing your source?.
We should be past this originality issues by now and focus on matters that will grow this community. People should abide by a set of rules guiding the community for without rules, the community will not exist. Lots of social media have their rules and if one breaks it, they face the repercussion thereof.

Lot of content as been done as regards plagiarism and it is never a waste of time to check such as assumed by you if am not getting you wrong right now.this is not the very first time this discussion is coming up on this platform at all,but it is just a way to help those who as been vitcim to get out of it and to even help those who don't know anything about it not to fall vitcim at all.

Yes you are right its never a waste of time but the angle through which my thoughts was born is different. What i meant was, checking peoples content for plagiarism shouldn't occur if we as a community respect the rules, its a waste of time to me after reading your content, i did copy it and then go to Google to test it for plagiarism, to me it show lack of trust and why so? Its because some people's mind is madeup to plagiarize others content.
If we as a community have risen to the extent that everyone here post original or referenced content what then is the need going to check if the rules was violated.

To my own knowledge, I think there is a plaglarised content detector in this community that can caught every plaglarise content and cheaters in this proofofbrain community and that detector is working efficiently and perfectly. It's just that the plaglarise content detector does not detect quickly but it might take to about 3 days before it caught you in your plaglarism.

Plagiarism is something that can involve anyone. For the most part, it could be that someone forgets to add a citation. In other, greater amounts, someone can employ a variety of methods to avoid system checks for the purpose of making a profit.
The amount of fraud that occurs is far greater than our current capabilities to mitigate.
I noticed that that this fraudulent act is being talked alot about in this pob platform this days and that's what supposed to be done.
Thia act of fraud is what some people are still ignorant of and keep involving in the act and even though they were being downvoted,they don't know why thier content is being downvoted maybe they didn't go through thier notification of them being caught.
But for people who don't know how to avoid plaglarism, you must not copy a content from another place on the internet be it a social media or a website and come and paste it in this platform, that's a plaglarism
Posting pictures that is not yours but you took it from another source without posting the image source is also a plaglarism and you will get punished for such act. Many people are so ignorant of plaglarism through image and if you are involved in such act kindly stop now
Hello iyiade, there is NO software present in this community that automatically checks for fraud. What exists on Steemit is too expensive for this community to employ at this time. Currently, the means for detecting fraud are web-based tools AND manual investigation. The tools just speed things up, but are somewhat faulty as well. Only manually investigating articles proves to be the most accurate, but slowest means.

I do tell a friend that the interest of the community is what am putting first and most especially when I see things that are not right, honestly I might not be a good author at all, which am still trying to build myself up ,but I won't ever give a second thought to anyone trying to cheat the community here at all.

It’s fairly simple, you can use google uncle to find out if an article has been copied and also find the source of it.
But often who copies is intelligent enough to change some words, vocabulary or turn around the content is some way so that google is not able to search the exact copy. But I don’t see that as a problem, if you are smart, you must use your smartness.
Google search isn't the only tool to use. For a more accurate search you would need to use multiple tools to detect and verify plagiarism. Moreover, these tools are just an aid to speed up the search. For me, personally, I would need to check the article manually to validate fraud before I downvoted.
Above all else, if you suspect something is wrong, it probably is wrong. If you suspect an article is fraudulent, the comments below point to methodologies that would help you verify your concerns and justify a downvote.
Whatever method you choose, however, should come with some level of concurrence in the community. I rarely DV someone without also reporting it to either HDR or HW. They can provide a second check that my action is wrong or correct.
Feel free to tag me on any suspicious articles you find. I can also investigate and contact other groups for validation as needed. Like I've stated before, one person alone can't tackle the problem for an entire blockchain ecosystem.
Mind you; fraud doesn't include only plagiarism. It can also have malicious upvotes or downvotes. Get help and guidance if you need it, guys

The user started very good but he might missing giving citation or it was his lack of awareness, find out? Tell me what went wrong and how he should avoid it in future?

I think is wrong when a content from some where is more than 90% of one post whether the person source it or not.
He did not also put a quote sign

Good example. I removed the rewards from that post. He cited the article but failed to indicate which portions of his article were authentic and which parts originated from his reference. I'm waiting on his response and correction to remove the DV.
If he corrects his article and notifies me, then I will immediately remove the DV.
Its a mistake on my part, i didn't know how its done, only thought i did make a post by referencing a source where i got some of the content, i guess i know better now. Thanks for this, it has really opened my eye on the procedures to follow when making a post, and for the 50percent original content @funshee. Thanks for pointing that out too really greatful for the tutorage here. Just as the saying "what you don't know is bigger than you" now am enlightened and such mistake wouldn't occur again.
