Purse.io Purchase SUCCESS! 🎉

A few days ago I posted about using Purse.io to make a purchase with BTC and how easy it was to complete.

Today I am happy to say that my game got delivered straight from Amazon!

Once it shipped I got an email from Purse.io and updated information on my order with the tracking info.

After that I am still required to mark that it was delivered to release the BTC in escrow. I am not sure what happens if you don't go back to do this. I am sure after an amount of time that they would just release it to the buyer because they do have tracking and it comes from Amazon.

So, I went ahead and clicked that it was delivered and got a nice confirmation message letting me know that once this happens my funds are released.

Instantly I was taken to a screen to rate the experience and finalize the order. Once that was done my discount was raised from 15% max to 33% max. Pretty solid discount for ordering on Amazon. I have a few more things to purchase so we will see if I can get someone to buy on the 33%.

Looking through the Purse.io site, I discovered this post that talks more about how they are able to get discounts on Amazon and still find buyers. The short answer is that Amazon gives out A LOT of Amazon gift cards and they are extremely difficult to resell or transfer. According to Purse.io people are willing to take a hit (if you consider moving fiat to cryptocurrency a hit. Definitely debatable) to not be stuck in the Amazon ecosystem. Either way, it has been a pleasant experience for me.
