Welcome to my Rabona update post of this week. I am an 1UP Cartel operator and I try to keep all of you up to date with these posts. New operator posts should be published every Tuesday but could be delayed from time to time since I am really busy with my upcoming exams at the moment.

Update about Season 70

Like I already mentioned in my last post there was a good chance I would win the league in season 70 and get up to a higher league but at the time I wrote the last posts not all games of that season were already played. So here's the update about this: I was able to win the last game of the season as well and reach first place 🥳 Yay, now I'm finally in a higher league again!

Preparations for Season 71

The contrats of 7 players were running out and I had to make a decision whether I would want to extend their contracts or not. In the end I decided to extend all the contracts because I'll need good players to succeed in the new league to prevent ending up at one of the last 4 spots and going down to worse league after just one season. Sure, I will have to pay way more salary but I'll also increase the income because a higher league comes with higher earnings. Here are more details about the extended contracts:

Season 71

I devided this part of the post into different chapters, since I want to cover several important aspects of the game. You can find information about...

Buildings

All building are finished which will cause me to think about new upgrades again. I think struggling that much in the higher league made me aware that I really need to increase the strength of my team no matter the costs. So here's what I upgraded:

• Office Building: This is an important upgrade because I want to sign even stronger player in the future / extended contracts with good players and they come with high salaries. That's why another 2% reduce of salary offers could be really efficient

• Youth Academy: I need to increase the efficiency ratio of scouting because I think scouting new players might be a great way for me to get new & good players without depending on other Rabona players

• Training Center: I really thought about upgrading this one. ~ 5 million RBN and 80,000 RBN per match (!) is a lot for an additional home advantage of 5%. So in the end I decided to not upgrade it for now but I'll probably will in the future.

The total upgrading costs amount to 3,200,000 RBN in addition to another 2,200 RBN / match.

Training

Although I didn't signed any new players before the start of the new season I still felt that I needed to increase the 4-3-3 stats of my players a bit, so they will perform even better in this formation. After that I focused on endurance like (almost) always.

• 27/03/2022: Trained Endurance with 18 players
• 28/03/2022: Trained Endurance with 18 players
• 29/03/2022: Trained Endurance with 18 players

Game results

Well, what can I say. The higher league is really tough, I've lost almost all of my matches so far and there's almost no way I'm gonna stay in this league. That's pretty sad because I "fought" pretty hard for several seasons to get up and now I probably can't stay in this league for more than one season...

What annoys me the most is the way I lost my matches. Most of this losses are unnecessary and to some degree incomprehensible. Let me give you an example: I have a 50% home advantage due to upgraded buildings. Now I have a game against Loosers_United, a team with mostly weaker players...

So you'd probably think I would win this game because 1) my team is better and 2) it's a home game. Maybe this could also end in a draw and if I'm really unlucky in a tight loss. But no, I have lost this game 0:5!

And this is not just a unfortunate match, Loosers_United has 30 points, 3 times as much as my team! I don't get this game and this is ruining the game for me personally. With my team I shouldn't be second last but I am. And seems like training or buying good players won't change anything about that...

Financials

The season is not finished, there are still 8 matches ahead of us. So the financials are not final, they will go up quite a bit until the end of the season.

The total profit amounts to 15,209,133 RBN. Although the season is not over yet it seems like the profitability of my club has decreased this season. I can't really tell what caused this, I will have to wait until the end of the season and compare the numbers at that point.

First of all I'm pretty happy that I was able to get up to a higher league. At the same moment I'm sad that I struggle that much in the new league. I think I'll have to reconsider my choices and try to build a more competitive team (whatever that means - I'll have to find out that).
