Where's the love, Gandhi?
My father's a fan of Gandhi. And I like some of his quotes. But Some of Gandhi's thoughts on certain things are questionable or objectionable. This includes his thoughts on the Black folk in South Africa. While Gandhi fought for the upliftment of the Indians in South Africa, he did not consider the Black folk as the equal of his Indian diaspora. Gandhi merely fought for the Indians to be treated well.
In today's India, the Black people, who visited India face racism. This is a reminder that Gandhi didn't do much to ameliorate the racial tension between Black and Indian in his time.
On November 22, 2018, 4 Tanzanian women and 2 Nigerian men were attacked by a mob in India's Dwarka in Delhi. The police rescued the 6 of them. The police investigation is under way.
They were attacked on a bizarre suspicion of being man eaters and that they abduct children for food.
