I've heard about this idea... that the ability to give past criminals (and the homeless) homes really does make a positive impact in their lives.

I've been homeless myself (by choice). The ability to get a job is often dependent on the ability to be clean, not stink, and receive a phone call to schedule an interview and any follow ups. Imagine trying to put all that together while living on the street. It's tough.

People just getting out of prison often have few to no resources to find housing and transportation for job seeking and job keeping. Providing a safe, stable place to live in proximity to where they work makes a world of difference.

Thanks for dropping by! 😊🙃😊

Agreed... but too often people forget that people need a little hand up to get off the floor, to be able to start recontributing to society.... too much is attributed to personal attributes and too little to pure luck.

Yes. Because some people are able to succeed with no apparent help, it is often assumed that all people can do the same. We're here to spread the luck just a little further. :-)

It is sad, and frankly criminal, that we don't actually reform those in prison. The joke is that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Prison should be about reform and education with support once released.

Yes... however, prison has become a business like any other. Reform is not profitable in the way recidivism is. Private prisons should be outlawed. There is no reason to profit off a person's punishment in that way.

I couldn't agree more with what has been said from the people below. Especially with @toddrjohnson.

It is very sad that this is happening. Glad you are helping.

Thank you. You are helping too... every time you comment on, read, or share a post on the subject, it brings just a little more awareness into the world. :-)

Well, in any case, I am glad to help. Awareness is key. Education is key ^_^
