If you are part of a group that excludes people on the basis of their speech, just know that echo chambers eventually exclude the majority of people that are willing to join groups.
At that point the exclusionary group loses the political battle and might as well not exist.
Can we point to instances of this in the hive as an example of this axiom?
Probably.
Just look around, the ninjaminers, early adopters, and their sycophants are doing well.
But the excluded group is growing larger each week and bad mouthing us to anybody that will listen.
A certain new token is raking it in and giving it to those willing to brown nose with their content, but excluding any dissent.
Good luck with that.
We've tried that innumerable times in the past, and it has failed each time.
Only the leaders of the group benefited and the rest of us had our rewards reduced in order for it to be so.
Ganging up to increase rewards is bad for everybody not willing to join in on the reaping.
When whales, and large gangs, vote 'popular' content, everybody else's rewards go down.
Is it time for another 'whale experiment'?

They get down on we littles for circle jerking with our two cent upvotes, then give their many-dollar upvotes lavishly to their friends. I've argued with whales about this (and been blacklisted by large curators as a result), but for some reason, they simply cannot see it. As in the "real" world, as long as the rulers are benefitting, they think everyone is benefitting. The downvoting hasn't helped matters either. Whenever I do find someone interested in joining Hive, as soon as I explain the downvotes, they lose that interest.
Nobody here but us diehards.
I haven't had a large whale vote in some time, either.
Maybe it was pointing out that when whales, and gangs, vote, the vote's value is taken from every other vote on the platform.
The less whales, and gangs, vote, the more the little fella gets.

You are right, though, it is near impossible to get a person to understand something that reduces his takehome pay.

Indeed, I don't understand why voting similar members most of the time. This prevents newbies from growing up even if their posts are quality.
'They' 'don't have time' to curate properly.
It would be better for the small accounts if the large accounts stopped voting.
When a whale, or gang, votes they take value from every other vote.
Our votes are smaller so that they can favor their favorites.
