I do like when large organisations dabble in philanthropy, even if it's kind of for their own benefit. Win-win situations are sustainable and very welcome, especially in this world we live in now.

Ripple, the now giant organisation of XRP fame, have unleashed an additional $5 Million to support Research in Universities in the APAC region. The research is for development projects on the XRP Ledger, including Tokenisation of Real World Assets (RWAs) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the blockchain.

I have an academic background myself, so I very much enjoy University based research projects. Having mostly limited funding, many of these research projects tend to drag on for many years, involving multiple Ph.D. students, so the injection of funds by Ripple Labs will be very welcome indeed.
