Coinbase released a statement on Thursday saying,
"As of the date of this statement, we have made no decision to add additional assets to either GDAX or Coinbase. Any statement to the contrary is untrue and not authorized by the company."
This essentially crushed recent rumors circulating that Coinbase may be adding Ripple. However, the statement is vaguely worded and not a clear rejection of Ripple or any particular coin. But the price reacted anyway with a massive price correction.
Personally, I'm skeptical. Coinbase is most certainly preparing to add new coins to their platform. Ripple still stands at #2 rank in market cap, and good chances of being the next to be added, when Coinbase is ready.
This wouldn't be the first time that Coinbase publicly stated they would not be hosting a coin, only to later renege. We all remember the Bitcoin Cash fiasco...
Maybe Coinbase is still planning to add XRP, but they're trying to cover there ass for any insider-trading accusations.
I think Ripple will continue to go up to 5$ and maybe 10$. If it does, I'll likely sell out of XRP for XLM.
What idiots! Do they not realise that someone will eventually adopt them and get all the commission for themselves. Idiots.
