We made it!
We've been here 2 nights now.
The trip started out quite stressful.
Because we were supposed to fly and arrive on the 22nd I was sure to have my wages paid out. However, because we were flying one day earlier, due to cheaper flights. I had it all worked out...
And then it turned out I didn't.
Hiveans to the rescue
It wasn't until Wednesday late evening that I realised that I wouldn't have my money in my account until Friday morning.
I didn't even have enough money now to get to the airport, let alone have the funds to pay for our first night.
I'd already decided to stay in Tijuana for the first night, since we would arrive at 11.40 pm local time, and it didn't make much sense to me to travel on that late and pay the higher amount for the hotel when we could get a room in Tijuana for half the price.
But now, there was no money for that either.
So I half decided we'd spend the night in the Tijuana airport and then in the morning I'd have my money and we could travel on to Rosarito.
Those plans changed when @starkerz got wind of my plans and like the great guy that he is, he and another great guy, @eddiespino came to the rescue. They booked a room for us in the Hivefest hotel for the first night, and arranged for the transfer from the airport.
I'm so grateful for having these Hiveans in my life, and to be able to meet other great Hivean friends, old and new. I am truly blessed.
Again, it showed the power of the community of Hive.
