Animal-like robots (zoomorphic):
This term is commonly used and well-established in robotics, especially for social, therapeutic, or biomimetic designs that mimic mammals or other animals (e.g., robotic dogs like Sony's AIBO, seals like Paro, or general animal-inspired companions like Miro).
However, zoomorphic doesn't flow very well for every day use. What shall we use for animal-like robots?
"Animaloid" is niche but fits the pattern for animal-resembling robots; common terms lean toward "zoomorphic robot," "bio-inspired robot," or "biomimetic robot" for general animal-like designs, with specifics like "robodog" for subsets— "animalbot" doesn't appear in usage.
