There are some trips that leave a lasting imprint on your soul — not just because of the destination, but because of the laughter, stories, and memories created along the way. My recent escape to Saputara and Eagle Point with my friends was exactly that — a perfect blend of nature’s charm and carefree moments.
Nestled in the Western Ghats, Saputara is Gujarat’s only hill station, but what it lacks in number, it makes up for in breathtaking beauty. Surrounded by lush green forests, winding roads, and misty valleys, it feels like a slice of heaven — especially during the monsoon. The cool breeze, the scent of wet soil, and the cloud-kissed hills were a welcome change from the everyday routine.
Our Journey Begins
We hit the road early in the morning, armed with snacks, speakers, and that irreplaceable energy only friends can bring. The drive itself was scenic, with winding roads offering occasional glimpses of the valleys below. With music blasting and conversations flowing, time flew.
First Stop: Saputara Lake
After reaching Saputara, we headed to the serene Saputara Lake. Surrounded by tall trees and lined with paddle boats, it was the perfect place to unwind. Some of us went boating while others just sat on the edge, soaking in the calm.
We also explored the local market near the lake — colorful handicrafts, tribal art, and local snacks made for a delightful experience.
No trip to Saputara is complete without visiting Eagle Point, also known as Sunset Point. The view from here is surreal — vast valleys covered in layers of mist, with the occasional sunbeam breaking through the clouds.
As we stood there, the wind rushing through our hair, it felt like time had paused. We clicked endless photos (obviously!) and even found a quiet spot to just sit, laugh, and talk — the kind of conversations that only happen when you’re surrounded by nature and good company.
🐎 Unforgettable Moment at Table Point: Horse Riding with a View
One of the best experiences of the trip was at Table Point — a wide, flat plateau surrounded by sweeping valley views. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you want to pause, breathe deeply, and take it all in.
But what made it truly special for me was the horse ride.
With the wind in my face and the sound of hooves gently tapping against the earth, riding a horse across Table Point felt nothing short of cinematic. The panoramic view around us, the cool monsoon breeze, and that sense of timeless freedom — it was one of those rare moments where you feel completely alive.
