Inside the Bible there is a special book that tells the influential life of a woman who faced the inevitable.

This is the book of Esther, who relates that Esther faced her destiny by placing her trust in God, praying, fasting and willing to sacrifice her life for others, while remaining wise and patient in difficult times.

Esther was a Jewish orphan, a practically insignificant woman, raised by her uncle Mordecai, with no future. But the story in this book reveals the way God defines the destiny of anyone who maintains divine priorities. Even in the presence of recognition, success, wealth and luxury, an environment that many envy, but which has often proved destructive to spiritual commitment, Esther maintained his sense of perspective and integrity.

Esther's Hebrew name was "Hadasa", which means "Myrtle", and constitutes an allusion to the beautiful and well-known plant. He mirrored Myrtle with his courage and obedience, which obviously did not wilt even when faced with death! In the Persian language "Esther" means "Star"; Once again, her beauty, grace and character shone in the darkness that threatened the Jewish people.

From this book by Esther the following aspects can be considered:

  1. Esther's response to Mordecai's call to recognize the hand of divine providence in his ascension to the throne: she believed that God, not her beauty, had made her queen (Esther 4:14). 2) His respect for the power of prayer and fasting: he recognized the reality of the spiritual domain and the resources of the Holy Spirit (Esther 4:16). 3) His immutable desire to risk his own life for others, good practical sense and patience in the continuation of his task (Esther 5).
