We are called to form the body of Christ through the church. However, what is the true church of the Lord and who will be the bride of the lamb?
The church of Jesus Christ is not an organization; It is a living organism, formed by all believers (John 3: 3-6). He is the head of the church, and we, the born-again, are his body; We are his church and He is our blessed Savior (Ephesians 5: 21-24).
Now, we will focus on the second question:
Who will be the bride of the lamb?
We the church. We are called to fight to become the bride of the Lamb and then his wife. After the new birth, the Lord wants to sanctify and prepare his bride for weddings. This is the work of the Holy Spirit. It is our responsibility to totally renounce the world and its desires; Get away from everything that God does not like. Being a bride of the Lamb demands total consecration to God; Then be his wife.
As beautiful as a wedding is here on earth, it is a weak image of what the wedding of the Lamb will be. We know how a bride works and how she prepares for her wedding day, even knowing that everything is temporary, that death can separate her from her beloved. With how much more yearning, dedication and fidelity we must prepare for that glorious event! The Lamb's girlfriend has to be something very special and delicate. In Him we have defeated death; and there will be no death; and we will be with Him forever (1 Cor 15: 50-58).
In Ephesians 5: 25-27, the Bible tells us how we should prepare to be the Bride of the Lamb. Verse 27 tells us: "A glorious church, which had no spots or wrinkles or anything like that, but was holy and impeccable." Only sanctified believers will form the bond with Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God. In Revelation 21: 9, an angel tells John: "Go up here, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."
The wedding of the lamb will be celebrated in heaven. The bride will be taken from the earth by the Holy Spirit and delivered by him to the Lord Jesus. This is a glorious and sublime event, where Jesus will be the center of attention. He will literally be in the center, with all its splendor and glory when his girlfriend is delivered, clean and glorious. In Revelation 19: 7-8 he says: "Let us rejoice, rejoice and give glory; because the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his wife has prepared. And he has been granted to wear fine, clean and resplendent bedding" because the fine linen are the righteous actions of the saints. "
The church of Jesus Christ has to be completely sanctified; "And may the same God of Peace sanctify you completely; and all your being, spirit, soul and body, remain irreprehensible for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thess. 5:23). Perhaps now we better understand the words of Hebrews 12:14: "Follow peace with all and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord." The bride can only see the face of the Lord, if she has been completely sanctified.
