  1. In 2003, scientists found that the risperatrol compound in grape wine was able to extend the life of flies, fish and worms to 60% of its supposed life.
    Since then studies have been going on to reveal the benefits of this chemical compound.

  2. In 2008 and 2010, research was also announced that this compound reduces the risk of cancer and protects against strokes and plays a role in increasing mental activity in mental tests.

In another recent study, another compound called bisiatanol is also found in wine and some fruits have the ability to change the gene action system causing the increase in the size of fat cells.

  1. In 2015, researchers found that a naturally occurring ingredient in red wine and black chocolate may be able to stop progression of Alzheimer's disease.

  2. Red wine is a killer of bacteria causing tooth decay
