Weight = mass x the acceleration of gravity.

When you measure weight, you are measuring the effect of gravitational attraction on a mass.

No, we do not know the precise mechanism that causes gravity to work, but we know how to accurately and repeatably measure its effect. It works every time it is tested. that is what makes the study of gravity scientific, unlike every single flat earth theory.

Sort:

gravity is not 'owned' by globe earth, it only becomes globe earth in it composition as a 'law' within the theory.

it obviously something is doing it. the why is in doubt, and is 'claimed' by the globe earthers to prove their position, i say you are overreaching.

Globe earth fits the measured effects of gravity and accurately predicts its behavior. What do you have?

same thing, I just don't assume it denotes a globe.
