Our Brain And The Universe

in #science8 years ago (edited)

Our universe may be growing just as our brain is.

A computer simulation designed to model the natural growth dynamics of various systems, reveals a high functional similarity between the brain`s neural networks, social networks, the internet and now - the expansion of galaxies throughout the universe.
The team constructed a simulation in which the universe at its earliest stages was disassembled (if you will) to tiny quantas (minute singular units) of “space-time”.

At The next stage, the simulation linked quantas which had a causal relation to one another, into large intertwining networks.
The causality was defined by the real ability of space-time events to interact in a way which would be temporally relevant.
e.g, a volcano eruption on earth would only be “felt” up to a certain distance in a certain amount of time and therefor would not be causally linked to further away regions of the galaxy.

As the simulation progressed and the space-time network expanded, it became noticeable that the similarity mentioned above exists. Space-time quantas linked to ones similar to themselves resulting in a limited growth, as well as to major clusters creating a junction for many other connections.
This type of growth mechanism created an equilibrium ( which personally reminds me a bit of the the principle of 2nd law of thermodynamics).

This eerie similarity is still not properly defined mathematically, but seems to indicate to a yet unknown physical law which governs the dynamics of natural systems, ranging from the small brain cells to vast galaxies.
