On the side of client-side hashing : to prevent all and any questions

in #security5 years ago

As i'm not the type to explain myself ...

i'll keep it short ...

As i'm a total loser bum with no degree in business or IT xept for what i learned myself and when down and out streetside, not stuck to one language or set, going by von neumann logic alone since they killed Turing for being the gay fucker who saved them from the nazis, don't like frameworks as they are restrictive and the bane of creativity (like sub-uni schools) and refuse to pretend to be oil in a pipeline.
A totally obnoxious bastard who refuses to do it how its done and gets the enmity to go with that apparently - by now only able to work for and by himself and only after midnight ...

(But there's nothing wrong with me btw - and that's a professional opinion)

I was looking into - since the man in the middle worries me a bit less than mister Robot would, who is basically the man at the end, see, you can tunnel all you want and that's cool as long as everyone else is outside that wall, but somewhere at the end of the tunnel, someone SEES THE LIGHT, RIGHT?

Much to my surprise here i go, thinking, well its crypto, right, that's gonna be implemented since 1990s or something since that manifesto from the 80s, ITS NOT ...

well its basically fairly new apparently, the questions being mostly WHY , and my answer is fairly short : WHY NOT? no native sha or any of the likes in javascript ?

but it seems to be there in most browsers if you dig some - but afaik its not really "officially " part of it, so to avoid conversation i can state my pov : "if it's there it cant hurt to use it" plus people use the same passwords a lot so a hash is a hash, even for a malicious admin at the end of the tunnel

but mostly : i started digging on it and i got the fever so i just had to

The site will use it - these posts on @gmdatacenter are mainly for replies to link @goldmanmorgan steemit voting accounts to the external site for later use when games and stuff ... without me having :

  • your steemkeys
  • your passwords (as they never reach the server)
  • and then some

euh , no ... that's not the password, the password hash, the hashed hash, the salted hashed hash of the password hashes hash or the one with tabasco on top, that's just the confirmation code, well i got at least five lines of code in tonight , im on fire .. like my bowels ..

w.i.p. ... (like your proverbial death star, seems like im not the only one who likes to use that metafor ... :p)

not being glued to one language has me thinking i should temporarily change my name to syntaxerror-cat , however ... the funny thing with codde is, once it works it works :D ... and machines havent changed much since vonneumann & turing so - but im sloooow, right ?

i'm more like

"whatever" :p ... this is good for my head, while people is bad for my head in general as they tend to try to motivate me into pulling their cart ...
