Solitude

in #self-care13 days ago

I’m having a couple of days away on my own. Not far from home, nothing fancy, just one of those changes that’s as good as a rest.

The main thing is not trying to pack too much into each day. There’ll be enough of that next week and the week after that and the week after…etc

Get some perspective on my life, do some thinking and writing, tidy up some loose ends, reflect on what’s working, be grateful for the amazing life I have.

Right now i can hear a busy but distant road. And a couple of birds that are letting each other know that they’re there. Birdsong is so relaxing and reassuring. And I’m thinking about what i might have for dinner, and when. I like cooking, but it’s really nice to not have to tonight and know that someone else will do the washing up.

Back to normal tomorrow after lunch.

Enjoy the quiet time. The world can be noisy and even our close ones can be too much at times. I can be quite happy on my own, but then I still like people.
