Teenage pregnancy is like a canker worm that has eaten deep into the very fabric of our today society. Teenage pregnancy is rampart today, due to lack of sex education or incorrect information about sex. Sex education therefore is a life long process of acquiring information and forming attitudes ,beliefs and values. It covers a wide range of topic affecting sexuality and sexual health. This education, is one which should begin from child through adulthood, to dead. But unfortunately , some parents has failed to do their bid in educating their children on the sex topic. Many parent's shy away from this and other's see it as a taboo to discuss anything sex with their children. So these children who was given little or no education on sex at all, may have to turn to their peers for advise and maybe misinformed and thereby carry this wrong knowledge about sex to the adolescence stage.
Mothers should see to it that their children both male and female are well educated on the issue of sex. Because it's her sole responsibility to teach, care and look out for her children. These children before entering the adolescence stage, need to know about their bodily changes, the causes of these changes and as well as to cope with such changes.
This education also will protect children from all forms of sexual abuse or molestation from friend's, neighbours, teachers and other members of the society and it also create awareness of diseases and as well as teach them how to manage their Sexual behaviour in the society.
Parents are suppose to have a close relationship with their children. It is important for kids to see parents as close friends. Therefore, the autocratic parenting style should be moderate cause it drives kids to seek for information outside and some of which may be wrong and the neglect parenting style is also bad cause it leave children to act solely on their own.
parents should present themselves to kids as friends and teachers. Kids should be tailored to always talk to their parents without fear , this will enable any form of misconception about sex to be cleared.
As the child mature, sex education should be more pronounced, every friend your child keep should be kept under check. Teachers should also be screened so as to prevent any form of sexual abuse. So many parents have been too busy that they let their children fall victims of sexual abuse .
In conclusion, parents should always create time for their children, no form of sex talk should be seen as a taboo or an ungodly act.
