A recent acquisition of a silver antoninianus of the Roman Emperor Postumus. Like so many Generals of his day, in a time of trouble seized power for himself founding his own off shoot empire. He was later murdered, 10 years later to be exact, by his own troops.

This is not a particularly rare piece and will run you 15-30 bucks depending on the quality. They often share the same characteristics being struck on debased metal and on rough flans.

This particular reverse features the goddess Moneta holding the balancing scales. The name from which we get our base word for money.
