2021 1 oz Silver EC8 Grenada Coat of Arms Coin.

This is not one of my favorites of the series but the 2021 Grenada 1 oz silver coat of arms is still a nice looking coin.

I am missing the 2019, maybe I will pick one up sometime.

Since 2018 the Scottsdale Mint has been producing coins for the EC8(Eastern Caribean 8) encompassing 8 Caribean Island groups in the ECCB (Eastern Caribean Central Bank) who governs currency for these Island Countries. Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada and Montserrat.

When I first looked at this coin, my eyes are not so good so I thought it was a rat on the reverse side. After looking up the information on it I can see it's an armadillo so I was glad to be wrong about it.

I have four of the five coins from Grenada in this series so far and plan to get the last coin sometime moving forward. There is no release for the EC8 series in 2023 so I'm thinking that 2022 was the last year for this series. If all eight Countries have a release in each of the five years there is fourty coins in the whole series.

The obverse side features a frosted center with a side view of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by a laurel wreath. The shiny outer rim is inscribed with EASTERN CARIBBEAN CENTRAL BANK on the top, QUEEN ELIZABETH II on the bottom, .999 SILVER on the left and TWO DOLLARS on the right. This is the standard design for all of the EC8 series coins and was created by Ian Rank-Broadley.

The Reverse side features two frosted sidewaze triangles coming from the left and right meeting tips in the center, the rest of the background on the top and the bottom of the coin is shiny. The Grenada coat of arms is in the center with the Countries name GRENADA above it and the year 2021 to the right. There are five stars on the bottom representing the seven communities of Grenada.
