Oils are essential on the skin because they supply fatty acids. Which is the reason why those with oily skin cannot rule out the use of oils.

Be mindful of the comedogenic rating of plant oils before applying them on the face.

Comedogenic oils are oils that clog the pores and they have a rating of 4-5

They include cocoa butter, coconut butter, coconut oil, linseed oil, flaxseed oil, palm oil and wheat germ oil.

The comedogenic rating of oils is between 0- 5
0- will not clog pores
1- has low comedogenic rate
2- moderately low
3- moderate
4- fairly high
5- high

Non- comedogenic oils are those with rating of 0-2 and they are best for oily and acne prone skin. Some of them include:
Argan oil, shea butter, sunflower oil, safflower oil, calendula oil, castor oil, neem oil, emu oil, rosehip oil, black cummin seed oil, almond oil, avocado oil. etc
