Hoy quiero compartirles una receta básica para repostería: Piña en almíbar. Aunque se puede comprar enlatada, a veces resulta más costoso. Si quieres ahorrar un poco o conseguir un mejor sabor, ¡esta receta es para ti!
Today I want to share with you a basic recipe for baking: Pineapple in syrup. Although it can be bought canned, it is sometimes more expensive. If you want to save a little or get a better taste, this recipe is for you!
Ingredientes:
- 1 piña natural
- 400 gr de azúcar
- 500 ml de agua (2 taza)

Preparación:
Pelamos la piña muy bien, quitando todo lo que no sea pulpa.
Cortamos la piña en rodajas.Licuamos algunos pedacitos de la piña (por ejemplo, los "culitos") con 1 taza de agua y colamos.
En una olla ancha, colocamos el azúcar y 1 taza de agua. Llevamos a ebullición.
Preparation:
Peel the pineapple very well, removing everything that is not pulp.
Cut the pineapple into slices.Blend some pieces of the pineapple (e.g. the "butts") with 1 cup of water and strain.
In a wide pot, place the sugar and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil.
Agregamos las rodajas de piña (sin el centro) y dejamos a fuego bajo durante aproximadamente 20 minutos.
Cuando la mezcla comience a tomar un color marrón ligero, añadimos el jugo de piña y dejamos cocer otros 20 minutos a fuego bajo.
- Add the pineapple slices (without the center) and leave on low heat for about 20 minutes.
- When the mixture begins to take on a light brown color, add the pineapple juice and let it cook for another 20 minutes over low heat.
- Puedes almacenar la piña en almíbar así tapada o usarla directamente.
En este caso, la usaremos para decorar unas tortas.

Consejos:
- Puedes agregar especias como canela, vainilla o clavo de olor al almíbar para darle un sabor más intenso.
- Si quieres que la piña tenga un color más dorado, puedes dejar. Cocinar más tiempo el primer líquido del almíbar.
- La piña en almíbar se puede conservar en la nevera durante 2-3 semanas.
