RANDOM BATTLE of the season (16#22)

in #splinterlands2 years ago

thumbnal.jpg

  • final battle of this season (anyone has the exact number?) - let's say #16 of the year 2022

  • 21-35% chance of winning according to randomized simulation
  • 1 miss for the loss vs. 2 misses for the win
  • OWSTER ROTWELL's (un)deadly blows
  • 1 HP cliffhanger

1. BATTLE!

combat rule
mana cap
splinters
  • mental notes:
    • should avoid defending against ranged monsters
    • low mana cap might force to maximize swift attacks
    • "traditional" deck configuration without any fancy cards

@infri
last 5 picks
@dusi
last 5 picks
  • mental notes:
    • probably real opponent
      • plays leveled up cards
      • plays GFs, legendaries, promos
      • plays MYLOR CRAWLING, YODIN ZAKU

2. STRATEGY?

2.1 defender's potential selection
    • broken arrow rules out YODIN ZAKU
    • prepare for TARSA = decrease melee attack
      • prepare for shield + opportunity = use thorns
    • prepare for OBSIDIAN = decrease or reflect magic
    • prepare for MYLOR CRAWLING = repay with thorns
      • prepare for void/shield + tank heal = delete the back first
    • unconsidered/underprepared

2.2 attacker's potential selection
    • playing with too many starter cards = try to avoid losing focus points
    • small experience with low mana combos
    • classic MYLOR CRAWLING vs. OBSIDIAN dilemma = omit both
    • defend with ZINTAR MORTALIS + heal/thorns/shield = against TARSA, MYLOR CRAWLING
    • defend with THADDIUS BROOD or OWSTER ROTWELL + sneak/snipe = against OBSIDIAN

2.3 final decisions

@infri VS. @dusi

2.4 summary
  • tackle earth and/or fire opponent (apparently for both of us)
OWSTER ROTWELLmagic reflectattempt to get ahead by dealing halved magic damage
CURSED WINDEKUthornsattempt to overtake melee attacks
SHADOWY PRESENCEattemt to lure snipers, delay battle for life leech
LIFE SAPPERlife leechattempt to support tank, prolongate for more reflection
MAGI NECROSIsnipe, camoattempt to take out the backline
FURIOUS CHICKENattempt to protect against sneak attack

3. WINNER!!!

3. #1 - elaborate uselessness
  • whole idea with life leech went downhill, as well as sniping the back out one by one
  • thankfully, thorns and magic reflect provided protection throughout the whole game

voidS.gif

3. #2 - efficiency in inefficiency
  • there was a really tight spot for BONE GOLEM to succeed or fail
    • crucial was the first miss and every other damage done
    • might have profited from being just a bystander (although maths say..)

3. #3 - clash of the brains
  • outsmarting the game with OWSTER ROTWELL just brings joy to one's heart, haha

5. FINAL THOUGHTS

  • i might not consider this as my first ever post on hive blockchain since it is very unplanned
  • hopefully this activity will get my juices flowing for bigger things i have on my mind!
  • this blog started as an epic match recap but emerged into a template for future posts
    • already got some ideas how to present in a more digestible, intuitive, fun to "read" way
      • better organized structure
      • updated visuals
