Hey Splintermates, what is going? I have just spent some days with friends in a rural home in Spain, so I am back with a lot of energy. I hope you are enjoying aswell your summer break 😇.
This week we have a very nice Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge proposed by the team.

In these type of challenges we need to show our skills and tactics, so other Splinterlands players can profit from. The bad thing is, that it might be used against you, but this is a game where the power of the community is huge. So here we go mates😎.

LESS is MORE
ESTEBAM, what are you saying? It doesn´t make any sense! This is what you are thinking by reading the title of the post. But please, wait until the end of the post😏.
As you know, Splinterlands is a card game. You need to own cards to play this game. Remember, you don´t need to buy cards to play this game, as there is the new game mode called FRONTIER that can be played without investing money.
But what makes this game very hard and with a lot of potential strategies are the different rulesets and available mana that show up in every battle. These rulesets are always random, so this means that you need to understand what combination is best for every battle.

Low mana battles
Specially in low mana battles, you need to make use of your brain. Shall I put more cards, so I can have more attacking power? Or should I just use one card, with health and attacking power?

For me, it comes up to speed. This means, you need to think how to deal as much damage as possible before the enemy does. And this is the key of the battle I am going to show you. A perfect combination of speed, damage and health. The magic combination. Please take a look at the battle and enjoy.

AKANE - An underrated summoner
At least what I can see in my battle history, if I play against a AKANE, I know the possibilities to win the match are low. If players would understand how and when to use this legendary dragon summoner, their winrate would increase.
Specially in low mana battles, AKANE gives you always extra attacks (up to 2). And remember what I have said before: Think how to attack earlier than your enemy.
This is going to be the key in the battle below. And to make it even more difficult, he has chosen a summoner that counters my one and only unit. But no chance.
If you want to follow the battle in more depth, please go to this link.
ROUND 0 - Lets check the battlefield
In this battle, the mana available is 16 in total. It´s a perfect number to combine AKANE with a big tank. One of the most powerful soulbound reward card of the game is the NIGHT REAPER. A big tank with 1 shield, 10 Health points, flying ability with 4 speed and a total of 3 magic attack.

My idea before the match has been: With AKANE and his speed, I am going to be able to do 6 magic attack. I should be able to take down his tank before he is even able to hit me. And this is exactly what is going to happen.
ROUND 1 - ESTEBAM hits first😏
Thanks to AKANE, the NIGHT REAPER has been able to hit SACROSANCT SHANKER. And the NIGHT REAPER is going to hit again, taking down his main tank without getting any damage.

ROUND 2 - The plan is working🤓
Is there any better feeling than checking how your plan works perfectly? This is exactly the feeling I got in this battle. The enemy wasn´t able to deal big damage to the NIGHT REAPER thanks to the speed and flying ability. And he still continues to take down his units one by one.

ROUND 3 - GG mate🤝
By taking a look at the battlefield after round 2, you will see that it is going to be a GG for ESTEBAM.

My opponent @latheron has used another strategy, by using more monsters. And he has used as well some really nice cards, such as the legendary neutral card Taye Loreswift or Phlegmunculus. These are two cards I will buy in a short term, but unfortunately these cards have low health and speed.

So remember what I have said at the beginning, in this case, LESS IS MORE 🤘.

I hope you enjoyed this post and you have learned a little more about the power of AKANE 😎. Please let me know what strategies you use for low mana battles, I would love to keep learning 🙌.

WAIT! You don´t know SPLINTERLANDS? If you would like to play and be my second referral, please use the following link and we will all see the 3Ws! You WIN, Splinterlands WINS and I WIN!
VONAK🤠💪!
