Ruleset and lineup

The ruleset of the battle is as follows:
ruleset.jpg
Holy Protection - All Monster have the Divine Shield ability.
Earthquake - Non-flying Monsters take 2 melee damage at the end each round.
Mana Cap of 32.
Available Splinters - Life and Dragon.

My Team:

Summoner:
Brighton Bloom - Dragon summoner that grants the Flying ability to all Monster making it an awesome Earthquake counter

Djinn Chwala: Tank with the Thorn-ability

Adelade Brightwing: DPS with the Repair-ability

Djinn Renova: DPS with the Strengthen-ability

Temple Priest: Plain magic DPS

Gargoya Scrapper: Sneak-Protection

Strategy:

I decided to use Brighton Bloom to qualify this match for the weekly challenge and also to nullify the Earthquake ruleset. The choice for the second splinter wasn't hard as there was only Life to choose from. The 25% extra dodge chance that comes with the flying ability against every non-magic ground attack for everyone in my team isn't too shabby either.

Djinn Chwala as Tank with extra thorn-damage and Adelade Brightwing supporting with the repair ability would be pretty effective against at least 1 melee attacker, pretty much blocking 1 Monster's attack each round while damaging it with thorns. Djinn Renova is always nice for giving the team that extra hp for survival. I decided to choose mainly magic attacks to target the opponents lifeforce directly and because so far I never met a good anti-magic tank in the life or dragon splinter. I placed the Gargoya Scrapper in the back to protect my magic monster against a possible sneak attack or two.

Round 1:

I was glad to see 3 melee Monsters on the opponent side as my tank with thorns would be that much more effective. With only 2 flying Monsters to face time was also on my side, as the earthquake would take its toll on all the others.

Round 2:

Most of the opponents Monster lose the Divine Shield because of the earthquake and the main tank about to go down in this round thanks to the magic attack.

Round 3:

With the Main tank down and the opponents Monsters losing the Truthspeakers protecting shield ability thanks to the earthquake.

Round 4:

The opponent manages to finally deliver the killing blow to my tank, but after that my dps Monsters retaliate and wipe out the rest of enemy team.

Result:

My strategy to use the summoners flying ability again the earthquake ruleset, having a strong tank and good magic dps worked out great. It really is a great summoner to counter that devious ruleset.
I don't own a lot of dragon-splinter cards so I don't use it very often yet. I do like the theme and the fact that it is mixable with every other splinter though. So until I manage to get my hands on some awesome dragon cards I'll keep on renting some every now and then and hope for the right rulesets to show up.

Brighton Bloom - Dragon summoner is a great summoner that allows other cards to do flying attacks.
