CONCLAVE ARCANA HEATING UP

There is a real buzz around Splinterlands at the moment and it is all thanks to the hard work the team has put into the new deck coming out, I am of course talking about Conclave Arcana. The release of the new deck will not only give us new cards to play with and collect but has also seen the release of Midnight Potions, Black Foil cards, a new building for land, three new pack options to give us more control on what type of cards we can get from packs and also they all have their own price points to cater for a variety - of players.

🃏 THE CARDS 🃏

Conclave Arcana like previous decks will introduce a whole new deck of base cards to the game, affecting all three game modes and quite possibly even land with the introduction of Black Foil cards.
Black Foil cards are max level cards and will be a great card to use on land for extra production.

Another addition that I did not mention above is that the cards will have a bloodline ability added to them also to further affect the game. This means that you can also collect your own bloodline (Race) of cards, with everything from Dwarves to Humans to Undead and more. It will be very interesting how this affects the game as the new bloodline abilities will come into play.

🧪 Midnight Potions 🧪

Midnight potions may just sound like another potion and let’s be honest at face value that is exactly what they are. But if we take a deeper look at them and how they come to be they are actually so much more.
Unlike the other potions, midnight potions are not sold by Splinterlands, you will need to buy them from other players. This means the price can fluctuate due to supply and demand much like physical items you own these assets will cost whatever people are willing to sell them for and in turn what people are willing to buy them for.
Land owners will need to spend grain, wood, iron and stone to farm aura which is then used to make these potions. Then the farmers can take the midnight potions to market and they will be available for purchase. Last I checked midnight potions were selling for USD$0.08 or 84.973DEC
Then you can use the Midnight Potions on the Conclave Arcana packs to get a better chance at drawing a Black Foil card.

🥼 The Aura Lab 🥼

This leads us into the new building the Aura Lab and how it will affect land.
Land has seen wood, iron and stone added not that long ago and now a new building, the Aura Lab, that will require these resources as well as grain to produce aura a new resource which will be used to make Midnight Potions. This has created a great opportunity for land holders and in my opinion giving land owners something to get excited about. If you were like me farming grain from launch like me this adds a use for all the resources you are farming. As resources get burnt making potions, we should see a higher demand and price for resources.

Black Foil Cards

I have mentioned Black Foil cards a few times but what are they and why would you want them.
Black Foil cards are a max level black foil card with a serial (mint) number on it, also known as a numbered card.
This means no need to combine these cards as they are max level the moment you pull it from a pack.
As to why you would want one, there are a few reasons.
Firstly it is a max level card so you can go right to working out where it best suits your play style and it does not matter what level you play at Because it is a max level card and will ready to use at your level as soon as you get it.
Secondly as I have already mentioned it is a max level card so why not put it to work on the land plot you own? It can offer a great buff to your production.
Thirdly trading card games(TCG) are also card collecting games. For some it is not even about playing the game it’s but collecting all the cards. Given that Black Foil cards are number cards and will be hard to get . It make them even more desirable to collectors.

Pack Options

A great addition is the multiple pack options which allows a variety of options for us to purchase.

Starter packs which are not available yet but will be as of launch are cheap packs that have only common and rare cards but only cost 1k DEC. These could be great for build out your commons and rare cards cheaply.

Standard packs are the same as we have always had five cards one guaranteed rare or better and possibility of drawing a gold foil and cost 4K. These are my pick as they offer a cheap price but offer you a chance of drawing something special.

Alchemy packs are new, they have five cards with one being rare or better. The difference is you are guaranteed a Gold foil card and because of this they are priced at 12k DEC.
An added bonus is with these packs you will have a 1 in 80 packs chance of drawing a black foil card making them very sought after.

And lastly we have legendary packs which contain five cards but have one guaranteed legendary card in them. This will cost you though with the pack being priced at 24k DEC. You will also have a 1 in 160 packs chance of pulling a black foil card from these packs. Not as good of a chance as alchemy packs but still a better chance then standard packs which is a 1 in 400 packs chance.

Well we only have 8 days to go until the presale ends and we can finally get into Conclave Arcana.
I am not sure about you all but I am very excited to see what I have got in my packs and hopefully by then have some more packs to open.
