Since switching to the new reward card system it's hard to find the right strategy to build a complete maxed out deck. Last series of cards i was caught a long way short on my legendary cards as i left them until the end and didn't have enough glint to buy the more expensive cards.
Now I'm having to buy them with DEC to max out the deck which is not money that i want to be spending but i need them maxed out. I did manage to max out all the lower range cards by renting extra SPS and increasing my rewards.
This time I have taken a slightly different approach by using up my full allocation of major and ultimate chests every season to extra energy and the chance at cheap legendary cards.
I haven't taken an exact study on the results but from my purchases at the start of each season so far i have done better from the chests than the sum of the cards i could buy otherwise. Just from seeing the rare and legendary cards that i have received it's been an advantage to buy up the chests instead of cards.
The next part of this is going to be cashing in my gold foil cards for more top tier regular cards to speed up the maxing process. I have a few golds but since i dont play gold frays these low level cards are no use to me in battles or brawls and i can try to pick some up later if there is time.
For now it's much more important to keep working on the regular deck first and go from there. From peakmonsters I can see that they are worth 166,250 GLINT which will be a nice boost for my collection.
Instead of these gold cards, I'm getting four legendary cards for 140K.
Three epic cards for 22.5K.
And six rare cards for 4.5K.
A much better use of funds for the time being at least. These cards are all needed for my collection and will help me across all battles as well as saving me money in the long run.
In my opinion at least. As I've said it's hard to know the right strategy to get the most out of the reward cards and glint so this is all trial and error at the moment. I have no intention of paying for any of these cards this time around and want to have a fully completed set sooner rather than later.

Funny, I do the opposite, I won't touch the chests only card draws for my collection.
Totally agree with burning unwanted cards to get what you need though
I find that i get more cards for the same glint plus merits and energy to earn even more going forward. Maybe it's just being lucky so far but the results have been good.
I might try my luck with chests next end of season
