Welcome Dave McCoy to the Splinterlands Team!

The Splinterlands team is excited to announce that our very own Dave McCoy (@davemccoy) has joined the company as our new Chief Operating Officer!

With a distinguished career spanning 40 years in the financial services industry, Dave has a deep understanding of financial matters, and a proven leadership ability to deliver results at the executive level. Even more importantly, Dave has been an extremely supportive and valuable member of the Splinterlands community since the launch of the product nearly seven years ago.

With Dave on board to begin taking on the corporate operations and management tasks we expect the company will be able to run more smoothly and efficiently going forward while allowing @yabapmatt to begin to switch his focus back primarily to product design, where he can provide the most value.

Dave had this to say about joining the team:

"I’m excited and honored to be selected as the COO of Steem Monsters Corp. As one of the original players, I’ve watched firsthand the game and the community develop at an incredibly fast pace over the past 7 years. I’ve had faith and confidence in the vision of the founders, and I very much feel that we are poised to go to the next level of evolution. Initially my focus will clearly be on the attraction and retention of new players so we can deliver on our full potential by unlocking value to the ecosystem, thus enabling us to reach our ambitious goals."

Dave also plans to join the regularly scheduled Town Hall events going forward and he will also make himself available to answer questions posted in the #town-hall channel in the Splinterlands Discord server.
