A total of 40-member male and female squads left for Islamabad on Friday to participate in the forthcoming National Junior and Youth Male and Female Athletics Championship to be commencing from Saturday at Jinnah Sports Complex Islamabad under the aegis of Pakistan Athletic Federation.
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News, app - 12th Oct, 2018 ) :A total of 40-member male and female squads left for Islamabad on Friday to participate in the forthcoming National Junior and Youth Male and Female Athletics Championship to be commencing from Saturday at Jinnah sports Complex Islamabad under the aegis of Pakistan Athletic Federation.
This was stated by President KP Athletic Association and former international athlete Habib-ur-Rehman while talking to APP here on Friday. He said the 35-member Junior and Youth Athletic squad comprising only two female javelin thrower athlete Dua Khanand international hurdler Zargona Bangash.
He said Fayyaz Ahmad Sadozai and Sagirullah have been nominated as manager and assistant manager while the coaches comprising Zia Jani, Roshan Khan and Rehmat Ullah.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Athletic Association this time conducted trials in Mardan, Bannu, Swat, Dera ismail Khan, Kohat and Peshawar so that to provide ample opportunities to the athletes of the all across the province, Habib-ur-Rehman added.
He said instead of inviting all the athletes for the trials in Peshawar, the KP Athletic Association made it convenient for the athletes to be part of the trials held in six different stations comprising Swat, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Peshawar.
That is why a good number of 35-member squad is going to represent KP, Habib-ur-Rehman said.
He said 22 athletes comprising Hilal Ahmad, Faizan Ahmad, Abdul Arif, Adil Khan, Salman Khattak, Manzoor, Muhammad Asif, Abdul Rehman, Qadeer, Paras Ahmad, Mehran Khan, Osama Khan, Nouman Khan, Adnan, Waqas Ahmad, Hamad Hassan, Kashif Raza, Muhammad Irfan, Muzamil, Ali Raza, female athletes Dua Khan, Zargona Bangash would be competing in Junior category while 13 athletes including Jehanzeb, Wajid, Bilal, Shahzad, Subhan Ali, Wahab, Luqman, Naeem, Ahmad, Kamran, Abu Zar, Wajid and Basmillah would compete in Youth category. Besides 35 athletes Fayyaz Gul Sadozai, Sagirullah would act as manager and assistant manager, Zia Jani, Roshan and Rehmat (Coaches).
He expressed the hope that the team would give good result. The players would be provided best accommodations, food and TA and DA would be given through own pocket. "We have limited resources but there will beno compromises facilities to the players," Habib-ur-Rehman concluded.
