in #sports6 years ago (edited)

Hello fans motorsport! The next season of DTM comes to an end, there are very few left and we will know the name of the new champion. But for now the championship goes to Spielberg, where the 17th and 18th races will be held.

The struggle for the title is taking on new dimensions. First in the fight for the title wed Paul Di Resta, and now at the end of the championship aerobatics shows the current champion of DTM René Rast.In general, a racing weekend in Austria was left for the Audi team. On the first day the producer from Ingolstadt was out of reach due to his well-coordinated teamwork. Rene Rast won his third victory in a row. And along with him on the podium were Mike Rockkenfeller and Nico Muller. The champion of DTM, who this season defends his title, climbed to Gary Paffett and Paul Di Resta at a distance of 33 points and has every chance of a title this season. However, this victory could not be, and that's why. On the 35th lap due to problems with the exhaust system goes off the track Timo Glock on the road to release the safe and the leading at the time Dani Juncadella after the resumption of the race too soon accelerated for which he received a penalty of 30 seconds and lost first place. The Spaniard, winning the pole on Saturday in the end was only in the fifteenth place. Gary Paffett remained outside the top ten, and accordingly scored no points. His competitor in the fight for the title Paul Di Resta came to finish fourth, which helped him gain a foothold as a leader.

Ahead was the second weekend race. Pole-position was for Gary Paffett, his rival Paul Di Resta was the third, the fight promised to be more than serious. However, all was besieged by the current champion of DTM, who again became the winner. His team-mate Nico Muller, as well as a day earlier, was again on the podium. The third place was won by Gary Paffett. Well, the acting champion having issued his fourth consecutive victory stood on a par with the great Klaus Ludwig, Nicola Larini and Alessandro Nannini who achieved such an achievement. The current leader of the championship Paul Di Resta took fourth place and before the final race in Hockenheim, applicants are separated by only four points.

As an invited guest of DTM in this race weekend was the current champion of the World Rally Champion Sebastien Ogier, who showed his racing skills quite well. In the first race on Saturday the Frenchman took the thirteenth place, in the second race on Sunday he got off the track and did not come to the finish line.

Local hero Lucas Auer on Saturday came to finish sixth, but on Sunday's race because of problems with the car, he did not come to the finish line, coming off the track on the 28th round.

So, before the final weekend at Hockenheimring, the table looks like this.
