What is disc golf? That is a very simple answer. Golf but instead of a ball and club, you just use frisbees. But there's so much more to it.
There are so many different discs out there, ranging from the type of disc it is ( driver, midrange, putter ), type of plastic, weight, characteristics of the disc,and you have different ways to throw them. There are different tournaments around the world, local clubs, organizations, leagues and different type of courses.
The most important part of Disc Golf to me, is to have fun. There is nothing like going out with friends and having a great time. ( assuming you miss hitting the trees and make your putts lol )
There is no "tee time", funky pants (unless your into that), snobby people. It's a great community with great people. It's a fun time to have sober, buzzed ( always nice.to bring a 6 pack along!) Or high. Just make sure to clean up after your self!
I used to go out every so often with my 2 brothers and one or two buddies. That was maybe almost 10 years ago. Unfortunately 2 of us moved.
Last month I visited, and played again with my brother. It has become a weekly ritual, where it now has been coined the phrase "Going to church" on every Sunday morning. We were 12 guys deep on the field playing a round of disc golf. I had a blast.
It's a great feeling being out with the guys and shooting the shit ( literally... I was rusty!). But it was good to see everybody again , not coming in last, and beating @Blewitt 's ass again!
If your looking to be active, learning a new hobby/"sport", or just have fun with friends and family, look into disc golf and enjoy the adventure it has to offer.

I found out recently that there's a disc golf course at a park not too far from my house. Never played it, but it does look interesting.

It actually seems disc golf will be more difficult to play than the ordinary ball golf
In the beginning sure. This game game is very frustrating, but as you get the hang of throwing, you get better and start having fun

I had a horrific first half but started to right the ship. I have been practicing putting a bit in my yard with my basket. I need to practice driving though as well.
You definitely did, my putting has been horrid, but still can't wait till my next outing. We should play glow golf again when you come down

I played that a few times back when I was at university and playing ultimate (badly). I've not played regular golf, but this was fun until your disc went in a lake. I don't know of a course near me
Oh yes.. the dreaded water hazard. That can be pretty discouraging, especially when you lose a disc you love throwing and broken it in. It happens to the best of us!
