We Want the Cup!
Sporting Kansas City eliminated the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup semi-final. It was a beautiful night in Kansas and each side came ready to play. San Jose played counter attacking football most the night but it only paid off once when the Earthquakes opened the scoring in just the 4th minute through Danny Hoesen. It took Sporting nearly 30 minutes to respond and they did so beautifully finding Diego Rubio at the end of a great team goal. SKC pressed for the rest of the match finishing 120 minutes with 12 shots on target to San Jose's 3. The WIZ advance to the Open Cup final which will be played on Sep. 20th at Children's Mercy Park.
