Mohamed Salah was elected after beating David de Gea (Manchester United), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspurs), James Tarkowski (Burnley), Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling (both Manchester City) through online voting.
Mo Salah is grateful for the award. Moreover, previously he was also selected as the best player of the Professional Football Association (PFA).
"I am very happy, it is an honor to win this award," said Mohamed Salah as quoted from Liverpool's official website.
"It's always been my idea when I return to the Premier League to show people who say I'm not here for the first time," said the former Chelsea player.
Mohamed Salah revealed the award is not separated from the important role of Liverpool coach, Juergen Klopp.
"I really respect him and I'm sure we can do something special for the club this year," Mo Salah added.
Salah did look amazing this season. He ushered Liverpool into the Champions League final and is likely to become top scorer of the Premier League this season.
