Just when you thought the Toronto Blue Jays had turned things around they were stopped dead in their tracks by the Atlanta Braves. Going into the home and home four game series the Jays were 17 and 21. Many Jays Fans (Myself included) were thinking they would go into their weekend series against the Baltimore Orioles back at the .500 mark. Not so fast, the Braves had other ideas. In the first three games of the series, Jays were out scored by a 27 to 15 margin.
There is bound to be some hiccups over a 162 game schedule, but the disappointing thing is the Jays seemed to have regressed to their subpar early season form. Sloppy Defense, inconsistent Pitching, and the inability to get a clutch hit in key situations have haunted the Jays through the past three games with the Braves, and there is no indication things will go any differently in tomorrow nights game.
It would of been nice to go into Baltimore with some momentum, and make a serious charge at gaining some ground in the A. L. East, but now I just hope they can get 2 or 3 wins just to salvage what could turn out to be a disastrous road trip.
If the Jays do turn it around, I hope its done sooner rather than later. There is no time like the present
