The New York Yankees lose a 13 inning heartbreaker tonight against the Cleveland Indians. The Indians now have a commanding 2-0 lead in the best of 5 series.
But the Yankees return home and will have the crowd on their side on Monday. They now must win the next 3 games in a row to win the series and advance in the playoffs. It is not an impossible feat, but will be extremely difficult. The action will resume on Monday night. Cheers!
It was an amazing comeback against one of the best bullpens in the league. Honestly, to be down 8-3 in the playoffs is daunting against any team, but against Green, Kahnle, Chapman, and Bettances is a seriously difficult task. Well done to the tribe on a great game. Yan Gomez had a great pickoff and they game winning hit. I was very surprised that Bettances was pitching that last inning, but it's hard to know what else was happening the Yankees pen.
I hope the Yankees can come back to win the next two and at least make a good series of it. Although I think I'll go for the tribe in game 5. Now that the cubs have broken their curse, it should be time for Cleveland to end their drought.
That was an epic comeback. Have no idea how Yankees scored 6 runs off of Kluber. Did not predict that at all and thought game was all but over after the 5 run lead. Definitely a heartbreaker for the Yankees.
