Olesen was arrested on the 29th of July just as he returned from the WGC St Jude Invitational on a flight from Nashville to London.

When the plane landed at Heathrow, the police were already waiting for the Dane. He was taken into custody but was released under investigation.

While being investigated, he was also suspended by the European Tour. He's now being scheduled to appear in Uxbridge Magistrates’ court on August 21.

According to Jack de Menezes of The Independent, Olesen was calmed down on the flight by fellow golfer Ian Poulter after he got into arguement with other passengers after being verbally abusive to everyone in the first class cabinet. When Ian fell asleep, Olesen was reportedly a disrupting figure on the flight and was further involved in more incidents.

On Monday, Olesen’s lawyer released a statement that his client has fully cooperated with the the police during the entire investigation, but with the legal proceedings still ongoing, he cannot comment on the matter yet.

Before being arrested, Olesen finished 27th in the WGC St. Jude Invitational at TPC Southwind in Memphis.

Thorbjorn Olesen, 29 years old Dane, was part of the Europe's 2018 Ryder Cup team. Although he doesn't play a full slate of PGA Tour events, he's currently ranked 49th in the European Tour.
