The defending Champions, Manchester City have dropped points in the Premier League after a 2-2 draw against Tottenham at home. This was an unfamiliar result for Manchester City at Etihad where they last dropped points last year in December against Crystal Palace.

City's attacking was outstanding, they had 30 shots on goal, enough to win any game by a big margin. Tottenham made use of the 3 shots it had on goal to score 2 goals. The first coming with an Erik Lamela strike which cancelled out Raheem Sterling’s earlier goal and the second, a Lucas Moura header, his first touch after coming on as a substitute which again cancelled out Sergio Aguero's goal.

There was drama in injury time when Gabriel Jesus appeared to score a goal and amidst the City celebrations, VAR came in and disallowed it after the ball was noticed brushing off Aymeric Laporte's arm in the build-up.

This was all too familiar with Manchester City's elimination from Champions League last season by the same side Tottenham. Manchester City had scored a goal in stoppage time which would have won the tie for it on aggregate but it was ruled out by VAR.
