RE: Splinterlands: Journey of a Novice (An Introduction)

in #spt3 years ago

Great to have you on the chain, Rosie. After 3 years and 23,000 battles;

  • It's a marathon, not a sprint. Make it a small part of your daily routine; not the focus of your life, or you'll burn out and we'll lose you entirely.
  • Try to avoid selling anything until most of the world has heard about the game, unless you're selling to buy another splinterlands asset.
  • Look at the field before each match, and try to imagine how it'll play out.
    Watch the battle. If you were right, move on. If you were wrong, watch it again to work out why. This is absolutely the best way to learn the game.
  • Spend some time in discord, ask questions, get to know people; in time, you'll find you're answering more questions than you ask. Get a reputation as somebody who helped the game grow.

Good luck out there :)

Yippeee! Matt this response is GOLD! Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to write me. It's such wise advice, and I appreciate it tremendously. I'm trying to play just a little a day as you suggested. It's tempting though to keep throwin' those cards! HA! I've also tried to watch the battle, and what I've noticed is some cards just win EVERY TIME. So I'm trying to work out the "whys" at the moment.

I love to get to know people and chat, so I'll check out Discord for sure. I truly appreciate your suggestions! Hope you won't mind if I hit you up for some questions of my own! Thanks again for your time! Have a great day! :)

Rose

Always happy to help. I love this game; hope you will too.

Thanks! I think I will!
