My mood is not that good today. The house in Spain we wanna buy has an issue. We discovered this ourselves when we received the description of the city council versus what we were presented during the visits.
It turns out that the downstairs bed+bathroom was build there in 2019 although the ceiling did not meet the required height. Therefore the space described as inhabitable storage in the register (as per 1987) can never be updated towards the reality. When inspected they could even cancel the housing permit and ask for removal of the bathroom. Ofcourse vendors knew this. However they listed it as 3-4 bed which in reality is 2 plus studyroom + storage.
So tonight we have to think what to do. Take the risk and ask for a discount or cancel the whole exercise and start all over again.
Problem is of course we have told everyone already and still wanna have the villa as the upper floor is large enough for us and we have one guestroom already.
Think we will do that......
