I may sound cruel and ignorant after this answer of mine, but trust me I am going to be honest.
Teenagers, nowadays think that self harming oneself, or committing suicide…rather ‘trying’ to commit suicide is extremely cool.
Let me tell you guys, IT IS NOT.
There was a classmate of mine in my high school, who used change her boyfriends like her clothes. And after each break up she would come to the school the next day, crying and her whole arm full of small cuts and bruises.
Like this
And my other friends used to console her, and give her advices regarding relationships. -_- Let me tell you, it was bloody irritating to hear her whining all the time. By the way, her cuts were so deep that even her blood shied away from showing it's face on the surface of her skin.
Anyway, one day she came to me crying and showed me the new designs she had made on her arm with a paper knife.
I asked her why she did that. She replied “I loved him, and he left me. Also my parents scolded me when they found out about him. I did this just to scare them.”
And being the big idiot I am, I offered her one free advice. I told her, “See, you do one thing. Either you quit all these bullshit drama of yours or pick up a nice kitchen knife and then do the required task of commiting suicide. It seems like the paper knife is also tired of you and your thick skin.”
The whole class had gone quiet after this incident. The girls were all “Hawww….What did she say?” and the boys were busy snickering and grinning behind.
Needless to say, that was the last time she talked to me, and also the last time she came to the school with a bruised arm.
She was a desperate girl and had the illusion that everybody including the teachers is scared of her. She used to threaten her parents too.
A habit once made doesn't die easily. Once our teacher scolded her for not submitting her project on time. She locked herself up in the girls' washroom and did not open the for even when our Principal requested her to do so. Her parents had to be called, and after much persuasion for almost about 2 hours she opened the door.
So, teenagers, however inclined you may be towards this idiotic scheme to frighten your parents and teachers, please don't do it. You are not matured enough to understand the grave consequences of your childish acts.
You will only make your parents suffer. Cause they are the only ones who care about you.
Rest of the world is least interested in knowing about what is going through your life. Develop some common sense, and if something is bothering you, resolve the matter by talking about it with your parents or siblings.
They will surely have a better way to make your “break up” less painful.
Don't be desperate.
Don't be a half-wit.
Don't live for your so called ‘boyfriends’ and ‘girlfriends’.
Get a life of your own. Chase your dreams, and make your parents proud.
