In exploring story concepts, ideation, and design for its traditional capital city, these sketches illustrate a crystal cave realm at the center of Phylum culture; along with the generation of energy which fuels it.
With an influence now reaching well out into the galaxy, this settlement contributed substantially to the development of this peoples' way of life. To the point, the city plays a key role in Phylum much like the ancient city of Cusco, Peru did in South America. Though existing remotely in terms of its geographic location, the mountain stronghold found itself positioned centrally in terms of its effect upon the widespread effect.
In particular, this settlement (for now call it P-4) provides an ideal environment for the technological development of something the people call light-matter. In brief overview, the location allows for a series of conditions ideal for discovering certain types of radiation and dimensional properties not only invisible to the human eye, but also imperceptible to traditional scientific ways and means.
Thus, with its network of embedded crystals, pure internal springs, resources, and crevasses this site provides the right balance of subtle solar light, invisible wave lengths, and energy amplification needed for these cultural and technological advances that now make up such a large part of Phylum culture.
