Steem Cartoon : Creating that Fantasy Realm

Anyone here besides myself who is impressed with the scenes from X-men's lair, or the King's colossal statue in Lord of the Rings, here I try to recreate that feel. One that gives an epic fantasy wow. I am going to create a castle from the main entrance. The key point, it must be big and boastful...Kings usually have huge egos, and their castles must reflect that.

step 1.jpg

I try to find the right composition by using a rough sketch to create castle with a main entry.

step 2.jpg

I try to find a right colour mood for this location. The time I choose is the morning so that I can play around with the rising sun. This process I will start with creating a few layers on each part by using base colours first.

step 3.jpg

This part I will focus on the colour of the sea water first and this process I will take a sample foto of the water texture and paste it on the layer. This process will help to save time. Then I will use a brush sweep so that it will look like a painting. For the final touch I will use colour balance to find the right colour mood and temperature based on the overall temperament of the art.

step 4.jpg

From the basic colour of the doors of the castle I will now start the detailing by using the normal brush. This process may take time and by using the lasso tool, the line will look clean and tidy.

step 5.jpg

This colouring process I will use the same technique for the front arch. The saturation shadow on a whole I will reduce to 50% so that the location of the castle will seem like it is at a distance.

step 6.jpg

The final touch, I will use the rays of the sun behind the clouds to get the epic feel. Now I will start to share the experiment I have created for a fantasy scene for my work.

nice piece bro, just nak tanya sebagai background artist kan, ada tak tips camna nk dapatkan composition yang cantik dalam buat background tu ?

Hey man are you down to collaborate on something - split the post rewards equally. Could be a series or just a one off. I've got the written content finished - just need some art to go along with it. I'd love to work with you if you're interested. Even if you don't want to collaborate - I'm always looking for new storyboard artist for my films - I'm sure we can work something out.

I am really flattered bro...I am looking forward to it but it won't be anytime soon because I am chasing for my animation production timeline. I work with @rambai. We are colleagues and now we are in season two of our animation series. I also have a set of work to be completed with this initiative by @sndbox called creativecrypto magazine. But let's keep the options open.

Not a problem at all - all the best with your current projects - I'll keep an eye bout for your posts - resteem when I can. Keep it up dude.
