Umar asked again, "How do you make the decision?"
Umar bin khattab turned out to have a very extraordinary ability. Umar had a tremendous power in capturing supernatural things as if he saw them with his own eyes. He can also see something happening in the future.
Muharib bin Datsar narrates that Umar asked someone, "Who are you?"
The person replied, "I am a Damascus judge."
Umar asked again, "How do you make the decision?"
The judge replied, "Based on the Book of Allah (Al-Qur'an)."
Umar, "What if it is not in the Book of God?"
Judge, "Based on the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah."
Umar, "If it is not in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah?"
The judge, "I speak and consult with scholars."
Umar justified the saying of the judge and then he taught the following prayer, "O Allah, give me your guidance so that I can give a fatwa based on knowledge, make wise decisions and guidance me when I am angry or not."
After that the judge returned, but soon he came back. So, Umar asked him, "Why do you come back again?"
The judge replied, "I dream of seeing the sun and the moon fighting each other. Each carries a stellar force. "
"To whom do you stand?" Asked Umar.
"Moon," he replied.
Umar thought for a moment and then mentioned the word of God,
وآتينا موسى الكتاب وجعلناه هدى لبني إسرائيل ألا تتخذوا من دوني وكيلا
"And We gave Moses the Book (Torah) and We made the Law to the Children of Israel:" Take no helper but Me, "(Qs Al-Isra (17): 2)
Then Umar said, "You I descended from office as judge."
