INTRODUCTION
The other day, a friend of mine introduced me to an amazing contest organized by witness @theycallmedan. The idea behind his initiative is simple but brilliant. Readers were asked to nominate a few projects on Steemit platform, which they believe deserve extra attention and support.
Every community project which will go through an initial selection (round 1) will receive 1000 SP delegation. Winner of the second round (starting today) will receive 20k SP delegation for the period od of 1 year.
HOW AMAZING IS THAT?

Many of you know me long enough to notice, that I engage a lot with people (mostly those sharing similar values and passion towards blockchain technology) and I upvote pretty much every valuable comment I'm reading. Having extra 20k delegation would surely help us all. This I'm pretty sure off.
But I still need to ask myself a few simple questions: am I not being too greedy? Would winning this contest be even a real possibility? Maybe. I hardly doubts so. Even with the current support I would probably end up as 2nd or 3rd, which would not benefit anyone. Neither me or anyone from our community.
So I came up with an idea. Please spare few minutes and continue reading :)
"REVOLUTIONARY" IDEA

One of those participating in the contest. One that I believe in and I want to support with all my heart . |

Alliance build on trust, which would serve one purpose: merging and growing both communites even more. So the idea is simple: Instead of asking my supporters for their votes, I would build a new healthy connection with either @SteemitBloggers or @SteemChurch and help one of them win.
After all: is there any better way of establishing a strong alliance by building trust between us?I strongly believe that by "giving up the fight" and investing my time to promote other projects I will prove my good will. I wonder if it even make sense for you guys?
I would really like to hear what you think about my approach, as it is constantly a learning process for all of us. Sharing your thoughts and feedback would help me greately to progress in the future.
BUILDING ALLIANCES WITH VENEZUELIAN COMMUNITIES
 | Initially, I contacted representatives of @steemitbloggers and offered them my support. Unfortunatelly I failed. My impression was that I didn't manage to gain their trust. I understand that the level of distrust in the crypto industry is very high so I cannot really blame them. Too bad. |

My second thought was to get familiar with the efforts and work being done by the amazing Venezuelian community @steemchurch. I received a very warm welcome and talking to their CEO was very refreshing and brought a smile on my face. @emiliocabrera is such a positive and encouraging person. Someone really worth knowing.
My vision and goals are quite simple and straight forward:
I see huge potential of using the Steemit platform to benefit a great amount of people in real life. I'm in touch with a group of over 40 Venezuelans already and introducing them to @steemchurch could potentially help some of them (after all it's locally strong community of Christians in Venezuela).
On the other hand I will gladly get to know members of their Venezuelian community who share similar passion towards blockchain technology, crypto, economy etc. And I will do my best to help them grow (let's take them under "our" wings).
(and please do not worry, I'm not trying to sell anything to anyone :)

It's not so much about supporting religious organization. It's just a group of people from all over Venezuela, who are supporting each other and their driving force is CEO and also founder of @steemChurch.
My goal is to help them grow only so I could introduce several of my own Venezuelan friends to those people (so they can build some local contacts).
And as for me .... together with few other friends (all of us blockchain freaks) we will take under our wings those guys from their community, who have some decent english skills and knowledge about crypto and we will help them also grow on Steemit.
Of course I fully respect your decision, but if you could re-consider helping us (after reading my explanation) then I would be more than grateful.

I kind of used logic. I could spent next one week trying to win that delegation. But this is my last 6 days with my wife after which i wont see her almost for 3 months. So working hard would be stupid.
And what is the point of 'fighting' if you know that you cannot win?

I think your goal is pretty long shot. You just have to hope that people during achieving your goal will not be "instant"people, but they will also have long term view. I'm saying this because people always depend on each other. And you may get your main role sooner or later

Your suggested initiative is noble and wise. Once you realized how ineffective it would be to get only 2nd or 3rd place, you refocused your thoughts and realized you could do your same work – or even MORE work – by teaming up with another group.
That's the power of networking, and since the Steemit platform and community are essentially based on the concept of networking, I believe your suggestion will prove beneficial for all.
While I don't claim to understand the details of all you are doing or all you are trying to do, I know that you have clear targets and a clear strategy for achieving your targets.

Well I did not know that @steemchurch was actually started from Venezuela. It is good to see that faith bodies stepped up to the challenge in technologies.
But then again, never under estimate the young generations of faith communities. They are making an impact for the world.
That's really kind of you to reach out to collaborate with them. I believe the Venezuelan community would be of great appreciation of your efforts.
That being said, let's hope that when this exercise and experiment stabilizes, every war torn country's citizens can unite together with unity (and of course not greed) to create not only just an income stream but a full scale ecosystem that they can switch to anytime and eliminate stress of any downfall regime in the future.

There are a lot of Venezuelan Communities that helps Steemians throught their votes, consultancies and motivation. Helping them not to leave the platform. For example @elarca helps to the artistic Community with promotion and curation hard work but they don't have enough SP rigth now. @votovzla they are such a great people and they help us voting our post and teaching us about the Steem blockchain (I am pretty happy that the won the First delegation by @theycallmedan ♥️) @rutablockchain (helping Steemians and promoting Steem like a form of payment in Venezuela) and @swimproject (teaching people about Steemit and how to succeed as a Steemian) are just great as well.
