wow, what happened to steem? When I read that the Steemit office was doing a layoff, I just wanted to check again how thing are going. but All activity seems to be gone. So is this platform dead? Or could we expect a uprise any time soon?

It does have that dying feeling but I think it will survive and eventually thrive.
As the same paradigms stayed embedded in the minds of stakeholders - it will be dead.
Steem used to be positioned around the 30th position by market cap. Today it's 50th. The base of users is shrinking, Ned is not serious at all. Just watch the latest interview, webcam and built-in microphone. Seriously? He fired 70% of the team... I see no future. I started power down and investing in other crypto

For me, leaving Steemit, Inc's nest is long overdue. It was the subject of my fourth post on the blockchain.
What was very heartening for me was to see some great brainstorming only hour's after Ned's announcement, talking about how to get full RPC Nodes running on high end desktop systems. Finally!
We need to ensure to support those witnesses that have software engineering know how, first, and contest organizing skills, secondly. We are graced by loads of them.
The crypto market is down, yet STEEM is down within that market. My Minnowhood was bought for 0.00024??? BTC/STEEM compared to my Dolphinhood, last week, for 0.00008275 BTC/STEEM. You have to wonder if Steemit, Inc's sell offs to meet their payrolls was a major factor in that price change. Might the ecosystem be better off with a leaner meaner Steemit, Inc.?
The dip may not be over yet my mood is still long on STEEM and my belief in this mid-ranged governance of DPOS continues. Even at the rock bottom price of EOS; governance able to change the blockchain scares me. Just can't bring myself to support it.
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing post with us!
Have you heard about Partiko? It’s a really convenient mobile app for Steem! With Partiko, you can easily see what’s going on in the Steem community, make posts and comments (no beneficiary cut forever!), and always stayed connected with your followers via push notification!
Partiko also rewards you with Partiko Points (3000 Partiko Point bonus when you first use it!), and Partiko Points can be converted into Steem tokens. You can earn Partiko Points easily by making posts and comments using Partiko.
We also noticed that your Steem Power is low. We will be very happy to delegate 15 Steem Power to you once you have made a post using Partiko! With more Steem Power, you can make more posts and comments, and earn more rewards!
