RE: The Number One Fix to Improve Steem's Chances for Mainstream Adoption

I do like the idea of a 50/50 split, but then we would see more users curating their own content and own comments. I mean, it is worth a try, because right now it is not working.

How long does it take for something like this to be implemented? Are there ways where we can test two different versions at the same time? Something that sites like facebook and reddit already do. They have several working versions of their platform going on at the same time and they decided which to implement after collecting data from the sort of experiment? I'm not sure if this is possible on the blockchain without a hardfork, but it would be worth a try if it is possible.

you said it yourself... blockchain technology. scaling on blockchain is a very hard and arduous process because the tech is built in a way that you shoudnt be altering it anyhow you see fit. and to alter it, you have to get everyone (witnesses) to agree and should they do, go back to the beginning to start re-editing codes? something within those lines.

like lukestokes said, education about how this beast works is also very important.

SMT tokens will probably be the best way to test things like this. Creators of individual Smart Media Tokens will be able to set that token's specific parameters, like rate of inflation, distribution percentages, rewards curve, etc. We could see tons of variations and get a feel for what works and what doesn't in short order.
