I hope most of you have already seen some posts about this, and already taken action. In case anybody who follows me hasn't done so yet, I ask you to vote for Steem witness accounts that are actually people, and not a gang of attacker accounts.
The attacker has stated his intention to remove a key security component from the blockchain: changing power down time from 13 weeks to just 3 days. Not only is this an unacceptable security risk, it is a unilateral decision made by someone who clearly does not act in the interests of Steem or its community.

It's very important to vote real, community witnesses back into consensus (the top 20) to mitigate this attack. This is an existential threat to Steem and must be taken seriously. Please use your witness votes to declare independence from the fool who thinks he can buy us. Alternatively, you can proxy your witness voting Steem stake to me. You may see who I vote for at https://steemd.com/@pfunk on the bottom of the left column.
Witness update:
I briefly lost the faith when all three exchanges were voting on behalf of the attacker, which allowed the attacker to pile on with the stake in @steem and @steemit. I did not restart my witness node with 0.22.1 code like many others. The version 0.22.4444 protest did not seem much of a protest to me if it was backup witnesses signing blocks on a chain controlled by the attacker.
However, with the community pulling together and CZ of Binance doing the right thing, there is hope. Bringing back a witness server almost from scratch takes a while and it will be online within a day. Edit: My witness node is back online.

I see the zombie witnesses are continuing to pile up votes so this isn't over yet. We need to keep getting the word out so that community members use their votes.
