Fill this place up with hundreds of thousands of Dolphins

I doubt that there will ever be hundreds of thousands of dolphins...

Dolphins will always be relatively rare since it takes ten million vests to become one. It’s now just over 488 Steem Power per million vests. Last spring, it was 470-something. So I think it’s probably somehow tied to the inflation rate of Steem itself. If so, the amount of Steem Power needed to acquire the 10,000,000 vests to become a dolphin stands to increase over time.

There’s less than two thousand dolphins as is. Even if all Steem was spread out evenly, there would be less than 60,000 dolphins.

But bigger minnows can take up the slack. I’m not (yet) a dolphin, but I’ve already started doing some delegating on a small scale such as the 100 SP I delegated to @eaglespirit who I “adopted” as part of the 1KSP initiative.
